OUT OF ORDER
Out of Order is Ray Cooney’s award‑winning farce about Richard Willey, a Government Junior Minister planning a secret evening with Jane Worthington, an Opposition secretary. Their plans collapse when they discover a mysterious ‘body’ stuck in the hotel’s faulty sash window. Richard drags his loyal PPS, George Pigden, into the chaos, and George becomes entangled in a web of lies that sends him spiralling into confusion. As Jane’s jealous husband, an opportunistic waiter, Richard’s wife Pamela, and Nurse Gladys Foster arrive, the situation escalates wildly. The play’s rapid‑fire misunderstandings and escalating disasters earned it the Olivier Award for Comedy
