Sunset Boulevard follows Joe Gillis, a struggling Hollywood screenwriter who stumbles into the decaying mansion of Norma Desmond, a forgotten silent‑film star still dreaming of a triumphant return. Desperate for money, Joe agrees to help revise her self‑written comeback script and becomes entangled in her lonely, delusional world. As Norma’s obsession with fame and with Joe intensifies, he finds himself torn between survival, ambition, and a growing connection with aspiring writer Betty Schaefer.
