EVOKE Productions
are delighted to announce their November 2016 musical is WHISTLE DOWN THE WIND.

A musical which revolves around the time and place where the word ‘teenager’ was invented and which has an emotive score combining hauntingly beautiful love songs and explosive rock music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by acclaimed rock and roll songwriter, Jim Steinman, will be the local company’s next big musical following the success of their 2014 production, Summer Holiday.

The story contrasts the relentless influence of the modern world with the traditional values of the old days – something which the community of WHISTLE DOWN THE WIND yearns to return to. It follows the innocence of children in an adult world reliant on community and religion in the 1950s whilst also offering audiences a delightful tale of a family of three children, who mistakenly think an escaped convict found in their barn is Jesus.

EVOKE’s Artistic Director, Chris Bougourd, is thrilled to be leading the show in November 2016, with special thanks to sponsor, Specsavers. “WHISTLE DOWN THE WIND captivates a strong story line blessed with an outstanding score that will have the audience enthralled. A must see.”

The search for cast members will take place during March/April 2016 and further information regarding the open auditions will be announced in the New Year.
