A Gifted Author(s) Equals A Successful Play

And this is the reason why There Goes the Bride written by Ray Cooney and John Chapman is SO successful!

Both Ray Cooney and John Chapman have enjoyed extensive and diverse careers in the theatre, spanning writing, directing and acting. Together they have written the highly acclaimed farces, Not Now Darling, Move Over Mrs Markham, There Goes the Bride and My Giddy Aunt. Individually they also have many successes to their credit.

As well as writing or co-writing One For The Pot, Chase Me Comrade, Run For Your Wife and Two Into One, Ray Cooney has presented over thirty theatre productions. In 1982 he fulfilled a long standing ambition and founded the famous Theatre of Comedy, consequently becoming its Artistic Director.

John Chapman initially trained as an actor before turning to writing. Following the resounding triumph of his first play Dry Rot, he decided to concentrate on his writing, resulting in a string of hits including Simple Spymen, The Brides of March, Diplomatic Baggage and Oh Clarence. He has also written extensively for television.

EVOKE’s Production of There Goes the Bride will open and run from Tuesday 20 to Friday 23 June 2017 with curtain up at Beau Sejour Theatre at 8.00pm.
