2022 season launches Sex, Drugs & Rick ‘n’ Noel
It’s all about Sex, Drugs & Rick ‘n’ Noel as EVOKE launches its 2022 season with its Theatre of Comedy presentation …
EVOKE’s June production will be the highly successful David Tristram comedy, Sex, Drugs & Rick ‘n’ Noel.
It’s the story of Richard Branson. No, not the Richard Branson – Sir Richard Branson – entrepreneurial, iconic, philanthropic multi-millionaire boss of the Virgin Corporation. No, this is the story of Richard Branson – redundant foundry worker from the Black Country – whose wife has just left him for another woman.
In a desperate attempt to regain his self-esteem, Richard applies to do a history course at Birmingham University. There he meets Noel, another ‘mature’ student with a whole different outlook on life.
Together – well, together they learn more than either could have imagined possible. About life. About women. About themselves. Not too much about history though.
This unoffensive play is an emotional roller coaster of thrills. Brilliantly written with a barrel of laughs and a tear or two.
THE SHOW OPENS
Tuesday 14 June – Friday 17 June at 8pm
Further information will be announced upon commencement of rehearsals during April.
EVOKE is very enthused to capitalise on its high professional reputation as a ‘Theatre of Comedy’ company that is proud to present in conjunction with its sole sponsor Specsavers.
