Its – Not Now Darling – for June 2014

Following the exciting update release on Wednesday 15 January regarding EVOKE’s musical production of Summer Holiday for November, there is more good news to share with the announcement of Not Now Darling as the chosen play for June.

Not Now Darling is a tremendously successful West End hit set in the elegant fur salon of Bodley, Bodley & Crouch.

Flamboyant and handsome Gilbert wants to give Janie, an ex-striptease ‘artiste’, a fur coat. His ingenious idea is to get Janie’s husband, Harry, to pay a ‘knock-down’ price for the coat while he pays the major amount himself so Janie can wear it without any husbandly suspicions. Harry does indeed buy the coat. Not for his wife – but for his curvaceous secretary, Sue!

Soon husbands, mistresses, lovers, wives and gorgeous girls – wearing nothing but their underwear – are entangled in a hilarious romp before everyone gets their just desserts.

An evening of fun and frolics as you would expect from those two master farce writers Ray Cooney and John Chapman.

Chris Bougourd will direct the production which includes a cast of five men and six women. Casting is currently underway and it is envisaged the full compliment of actors will be announced in due course.
